UNIX: Tips and tricks

Repeating previous commands

Press the 'up' arrow key to access your last command. Press 'up' again for more commands.

Avoiding typing

UNIX shells can auto complete some commands and file names. Start typing the name and press the 'Tab' key. If the command doesn't complete, press Tab again to see a list of all possible commands that start with whatever you have typed.
